Cortner Architectural Company specializes in providing architectural services to public agencies and private clients throughout the Inland Northwest in the commercial, education, healthcare and transportation sectors. We are presently looking for a dynamic team player for the CAD Technician position.

POSITION:  full-time

JOB OVERVIEW

The CAD Technician is responsible for the preparation and coordination of clear, concise construction drawings and the development of project specific details.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Prepare complete and concise design and construction drawings

·         Coordinate construction drawing details and dimensions

·         Conduct existing conditions surveys

·         Review and check documents for accuracy and completeness

·         Assist in checking submittals and responding to requests for information

·         Provide support for any tasks required for the successful completion of the project

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

·         Working knowledge of construction techniques and related coordinating details and dimensions

·         Passion for providing exceptional client service

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced design environment

·         Independent thinker, self-motivated, with the ability to work both individually a part of a team

·         Work experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Programs

Intern Architect

JOB OVERVIEW

Intern architects are responsible for the production of high quality construction documents and specifications in collaboration with, and under the supervision of, licensed project architects. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Create and manage the production of construction drawings for bidding and construction

·         Conduct ongoing review of the documents for accuracy and completeness

·         Conduct existing conditions surveys

·         Complete assigned work in an orderly, timely, and coordinated manner

·         Conduct product research

·         Assist with construction administration tasks (site visits, RFI responses, submittal and punch list reviews)

·         Prepare conceptual renderings/presentation materials

·         Pursue a license to practice

·         Pursue a growing understanding of program, code, and agency requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

·         BS Architecture, 1+ years of applied experience in an office environment

·         Strong technical and analytical skills required

·         Highly skilled in AutoDesk Building Design Suite/Architectural AutoCAD

·         Highly skilled in Sketchup (for 3-D modeling) and Adobe Photoshop

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office programs

·         Strong verbal, written, graphic communication and organization skills

·         Positive, energetic and fun team player who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment

·         Independent thinker, self-motivated, with the ability to work both individually and as part of a team

Project Architect and Job Captain

POSITION:  full-time

JOB OVERVIEW

Project architects are responsible for the coordination and oversight of the construction documentation and administration process from schematic design through contract administration and project closeout. They are responsible for leading the technical team, including in-house staff and external consultants.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Lead team and client meetings

·         Create and manage the production of construction drawings for bidding and construction

·         Organize and direct the design team to execute the work in an orderly, timely, and coordinated manner

·         Ensure construction drawings are program, code and agency compliant

·         Provide input to the design and construction schedule and conduct product research

·         Provide technical expertise and ensure coordinated, high quality construction documents

·         Conduct construction administration activities (site visits, RFI responses, submittal reviews)

·         Inspire, develop, and mentor architectural design staff

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

·         Strong working knowledge of technical design and building code and agency requirements

·         Strong verbal, written, graphic communication, and organization skills

·         Proven ability to function in all phases of the project from schematic design through project closeout

·         Passion for providing exceptional client service

·         Positive, energetic and fun team player who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment

·         Independent thinker, self-motivated, with the ability to work both individually and as part of a team
