Project Overview

In a quest to rehabilitate and revitalize a recreation and tourism site historically important to the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes, their Economic Development Office invited Cortner Architectural Company to complete a Preliminary Architectural Report (PAR). To complete the report, Cortner Architectural staff analyzed the condition of the existing site and abandoned structure, including conducting an environmental impact analysis. Then, the architectural staff developed preliminary site plans, building concept drawings, and detailed estimates. Jim Cortner and Ray Cortner elicited input on the proposed designs from the CSKT Tribal Council and community members at eight community meetings. The final report was used by the Economic Development Office to pursue grant funding for the project.
